Joining Basware step-by-step (for new hires only)
Before the start
Our HR has sent you some preliminary material and information for you to review by email.
You can start getting to learn more about Basware.
Check the location of the office and plan your commute. You can also have a virtual tour at some of our premises already.
It is always good to plan a bit ahead and to make sure you know what time and where you need to be on the first day and who you will be meeting.

What to bring
The most important thing to have with you is your smile. You will come across smiling faces in the office as well.
From a practical point of view, please take any forms and information that you would need to provide for payroll processing. You will also get some new devices so you might need a bag suitable for a laptop.
First days
Your manager or HR will meet you on the first day. A very important person to meet on the first day is your onboarding buddy.
You will get a company-issued laptop and all access passes will become available for use.
There will be a lunch scheduled with your team in your first week and a range of other meetings set up in your calendar to meet your important stakeholders. You will participate in an HR introduction session to get to know all local policies and procedures and also to learn more about our culture and ways of working.
You'll have the opportunity to ask questions, seek clarification, and address any concerns you may have. It's a good idea to jot down questions as they come up and seek answers from your manager, buddy, or HR.
Your Navigator Plan
We´ve prepared a 2-month Navigator Plan that covers all the general onboarding tasks and learning you need to complete.
There will also be functional and role-specific training that will prepare you for your role.

My first day
My direct manager is not in the country where I will be working. Who do I meet on the first day?
Your manager and local HR (Human Resources) will ensure that there is a plan for your first few weeks. They will let you know what time to arrive, who will meet you there and what to expect once you arrive. You will also be introduced to a buddy who can guide you.
Although your manager may not be in the same city or country, they will be in contact with you regularly and introduce you to your team. The local HR is an important contact for you.
What will my first day involve?
Your manager will arrange onboarding activities for you. Depending on the country you might meet with HR or your buddy first, otherwise, your manager will meet with you.
Local HR and Admin will arrange an induction session with you over the first few weeks and provide an introduction to all the necessary employment systems, as well as introduce key individuals who will guide you through the initial stages of your career.
What documents or identification should I bring with me on the first day?
If you haven’t already submitted copies during the recruitment process, bring the following documents on your first day: personal identification, work permit/visa/residence permit (if required), and educational certificates/diplomas.
If you have any uncertainties about your first day, you can reach out to your local HR.
Benefits and Payroll
How do I find out about the benefits that I am entitled to?
There will be a lot of information regarding your benefits in your Employment Contract. If you have specific about the benefits you can reach out to your local HR.
What is the payroll schedule?
This is different from country to country. Local HR will provide information about the payroll schedule during the HR induction.
Contact local HR for all information regarding forms to be provided, payment cycle, salary dates, and employment confirmations.
Equipment
Do I get a laptop, and can I take it home?
Basware provides laptops for all employees who need them for work-related matters. You may take the laptop home ensuring that you keep it safe.
You must follow the Basware Acceptable Use and Security policies when working remotely. The mandatory onboarding training includes information about these policies.
Can I buy equipment (table, chair, screen) for my home office? Will Basware pay for it?
ll Basware offices are designed and furnished to support our employees with all the equipment you will need. You can work from the office if you do not have the equipment at home to work comfortably and productively.
Employees may order one (1) screen for remote work once they start with Basware. You will find instructions on how to do this in your Navigator Plan in the HR System.
